Can you recommend Paris hotel near Gare Montparnasse.

Hello everybody,

Because you can only catch the first morning train to Bayonne by traveling the day before on EuroStar, I will be staying a night in Paris.

Trawling the net has so far not proved very effective in finding anything brilliant near the Gare Montparnasse and would appreciate any recommendations for a reasonable hotel in the vicinity of the station; alternatively, if anybody can recommend anything near the Gare du Nord I could then cross the city by metro the following morning.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

The hotel Port Royal is close to the railway stations.

Check out Studio Hotel at 25 Rue Alain Chartier which I gather is very near the Convention Metro stop which itself is 5-10 minutes from Gare Montparnasse.

From the reviews I read it's old, you probably will share a toilet, but clean and conveniently located near shops and the metro. Priced reasobably.

Check out tripadvisor.com to see a handful of detailed recent reviews. Mind you: never been there myself.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Just nearby this hotel is Hotel des Gobelins, on a quiet side street, one we have stayed before and I can recommend

I'll give you my recommendation soon. I emailed both of them about accommodation... staying 1 night in appears cheaper than trying to blitz to bayonne from charles de gaulle on friday :p

I've stayed at the Ibis Paris Tour Montparnasse at 22 Avenue du Maine which is only a two minute walk from the station. Rooms are reasonable, a bit on the small side but that's normal in Parisien hotels, and I'd certainly stay there again. Ibis also have another hotel nearby, Ibis Paris Gare Montparnasse, 71 boulevard de Vaugirard, again very close to the station. http://www.ibishotel.com

Port Royal & Studio both full, Hotel du Parc looks nice but a little on the expensive side at E100. Gone for HotelGobelins which is on the Ligne 91 bus route to Gare Montparnasse or the metro via Place d'Italie.

Thanx for your recommendations.
