Casa el Cura in Calzadilla de los Hermanillos
On the Romana way from Sahagun we stopped here for a wonderful night in luxurious surroundings, but for any pilgrim travelling this way the meal offered here has far surpassed any other thus far. Our host has obviously looked at pilgrim meals on offer else where and decided we need better, gourmet food on a budget, €10 for the three course with vino included and not a potato chip in sight ! A must for any pilgrim on this way. :D

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Leo, the crazy guy in charge of the kitchen at Casa el Cura, is a good friend of Peaceable Kingdom. He is a Cuban immigrant with super cooking skills and a true passion for the Camino de Santiago. He´s paid his dues, and his dream of hosting pilgrims in a lovely spot is finally coming true. I am gratified to see pilgrims enjoying his creations... and if you ask early enough in the day, he can do something deliciously Cuban for you!
(and if you tell him I sent you, your first beer is free!)

Reb.

My walking buddies and I went to this place on Reb's recommendation and had a great evening! I think some lemon liqueur came out at some point as well, but I can't remember too much... Great guy.

Buen Camino!
