Couple from Minnesota soon to hike.

Hi, We are Linda and Paul from MN and are hiking the Camino for our first time. We are arriving in Madrid on May 18th and plan to spend a couple of days in Avilla before heading up to Sarria to start our hike. Any suggestions on the best mode of transportation? We plan to hike for 7 - 10 days and may go on to Finneasa sp? if time permits. We are celebrating 100 years of life (combined!!) I'm getting really excited! Linda :lol:

In general the bus is the best way to travel by ground to Galicia.

http://www.alsa.es is the buscompany that I have used several times, and it works well. Check their website for time tables.

By Bus to Sarria

I didn't think Alsa had a bus service from Madrid to Sarria. The website doesn't show Sarria at all. Perhaps there is another bus service?
If you can't find a bus, you can take an overnight train:

Thank you for your help. We will probably take the night train from Avilla to Sarria. That sounds like the best bet. Maybe we'll even get some sleep!
