Credential in Madrid?

Kia ora from New Zealand. On previous camino I have had a credential sent to NZ.
This time we are planning to walk the Camino de Madrid in May and with postage being very slow to New Zealand I hope I can still access a credential in Santiago and San Juan Bautista. Would anyone know if this is still possible. Many thanks. Stay healthy fellow pilgrims :)

In principle, yes, as the Amigos still have their office there; but whether they’ve resumed their operation in the light of COVID’s a good question. Perhaps order one from Ivar to have a backup?

Another option would be to order them from Ivar and have them sent to your hotel in Madrid.

Latest order from Ivar took about 4 weeks to arrive in NZ (Feb 22) so plenty of time to get a couple sent out. I have some extras if you're stuck. Fly out 28/3 for vdp from cadiz so let me know. Safe travels !

We had no luck with the Amigos, but the priest at the church of Santiago was a delight. And the sello (stamp) he gives to pilgrims starting is awesome. As Catholics, he called us up to the altar after communion and gave us his blessing in front of the congregation. It was very special.

We had zero expectations for the Camino Madrid and it turned out to be one of very favorites for a variety of reasons. And...one of the fun aspects of the camino is that there was a lady three days ahead of us keeping us apprised of her camino journal, while we did the same for a young man three days behind us. This was all done thanks to this forum introducing us to each other.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Thank you so much
If you have any luck with the Amigos, please post that on Ivar. Not only did we fail to connect with them, it took forever to find their office. And we're still not sure if in fact we ever found it since there were no signs. In contrast, the priest at the church took us into the sacristy and was so helpful and encouraging.

I also met with two very helpful chaps at the church. They were very friendly and it seemed rude to break off the conversation after a half hour.

That would be the best place to try, I’m fairly sure I found the opening hours easily online.

Hello, obtained credential beginning of March at Iglesia Santiago, ; also went to Madrid camino friends office on Carreteras (check hours); walked Madrid Camino during March- saw one other pilgrim and heard another pilgrim was about 1 day ahead; in March many albergues still closed, so went to hostals then;
enjoy!! Henny
