I did not make the trip this year, however, I am also hoping for April 2024. We should stay in touch and meet up on the trail.

April is one of my favorite months to walk and cycle Caminos. Having been on three different Camino paths walking and one biking in April, I would say the weather can be quite unpredictable. We have walked for an April week in glorious sunshine. We have also endured heavy rains and wind for an April week as well. The April I cycled the VDLP, it was an unanticipated cold week in southern Spain which made riding an even tougher challenge than expected. With cold weather and rain and snow also came significant mud to deal with. Weather is just unpredictable! One April it might be great, the following year horrendous. You’ll have wonderful spring days in April. You’ll also have some bad weather days if my experiences are any indication. Would I ride the CF in April? Sure, because for one reason, there should be fewer pilgrims walking particularly early in the month. However, be prepared for cold, wet weather as well. If you don’t mind the possibility of inclement weather, both in and out of the mountains, you’ll have a great Camino. Just dress appropriately. We ride the CF in September. We have the rain gear already planned for our trip across Spain.

How was the CF ride in September? I am planning to ride the CF in June 2024. Am thinking of using an agency to help plan, but am looking for any advice on which one to use or if I need to use one at all? Thanks in advance for sharing.

I rode the Francés in June ‘23. I see no point in using an agency. Pre- book your first 3 days and then take it as it comes. How much time are you allowing? And what about the bike? Where will you start? Give us a bit more info and you’ll get lots of advice from forum members.
