Hello,
Can anyone please tell me if the stage from Redondela to Pontevedra is very hilly?
I walked this way in 2007 from Porto, and seem to remember some quite hilly stages after Valenca.
Regards
Roland

Yes there are some fairly long uphill stretches on either side of Arcade but nothing major. The bigger climb is between O Porrino and Redondela.

Trecile, I know many, many pilgrims use hiking sandals and like them. I bring wonderful sandals from Quechua for my "walk-around-town-at-the-end-of-the-day" shoes.
I would not, however, use sandals on the Camino unless the days were dry and relatively paved. My Caminos are wet and wild. My latest included lots of heavy rain and rough paths. Ugh, my feet were grateful to be protected top and bottom from the environment.
I know you are an experienced pilgrim and use hiking sandals that are comfortable and sturdy!! 👍
