I love Pascal!I was given this tiny mouse (Pascal) by dear friends. He's travelled with me on my last 3 caminos and photos of his adventures are sent home to my friends and the children in my family. I've come to enjoy his company and I expect (hope) he will continue to be my travel companion for a long time. This is Pascal arriving in Santiago from the Invierno in 2019.

That’s lovely.
The Burro Peligroso rests these days in my cabinet of curiosities. She may join me on the Thames Path next month if the winds of fortune are blowing gently. Strangely she has traveled 9 countries in 2 continents yet never hiked at homeI love Pascal!
P.S. I think I remember a photo @Tincatinker posted in front of the Camino of Pascal's donkey sitting on top of his backpack...but I could be dreaming.
Can you possibly find your picture in front of the cathedral in Santiago and repost it?The Burro Peligroso rests these days in my cabinet of curiosities. I remember the story of Mo! Great that he had at least one camino and has an understanding of your following walksI wrote in an earlier post about the
stuffed moose which I carried on my first camino for sentimental reasons. Once with a moose was enough.
This one? Or one of the others? She did StJdpP to SantiagoCan you possibly find your picture in front of the cathedral in Santiago and repost it?
The one I recall is the first photo, the one where he is sitting on your red backpack in front of the cathedral...so cute! This one? Or one of the others? She did StJdpP to Santiago
Now that deserves a thread of its own. I’ll make a note to post a picture of mine in the next few days.my cabinet of curiosities.
Only ever carried two things. My faith and a rock and that had nothing to do with good luck. Many years ago while dumping stuff at a council tip, I found a prayer card to St Joseph. I brought it home and did the novena on it and then threw it in a drawer as nothing came of the novena. 2018 back on the Camino, I fell into an ice cold river and had to be pulled out as I was unconcious. Off I went next day on my camino and thought nothing of it. This year has been dedicated by Pope Frances to St Joseph so I dug out the prayer card and there at the bottom it said that anyone completing this novena would never drown. So there it is, just my rock and my faith and thats all I need. My faith does of course include my rosary and my Miraculous medalWhen I was younger I had a rabbit's foot. I thought it would bring me good luck. Later, as a football (soccer) goalie, I had a special jersey I wore hoping we would win the match. On my first Camino, I carried the required rock, a prayer card for my recently deceased cousin and a Rosary. Since I fell off a rock and received serious injury, the rock may not have worked.
Now, did you carry anything that you hoped would bring you good luck, or favor, while on Camino?
I carry my Rosary at all times, say it at every opportunity and wear my Miraculous Medal. Life is full of surprises. Faith is a certainty.Only ever carried two things. Struggling up Mostelares one day, I started to say the rosary. Finished 3 decades when a lady I guess about same age as me came up and I remembered her from just before Vianna. Talking to her, I forgot about the Hill and suddenly we were at the top. She walked on while I de layered and I never saw her again. A camino angel maybe. Halfway down the hill, I remembered I owed Our Lady a couple of decades so stopped at side of trail to complete my prayer. Small miracles do happen on the caminoI carry my Rosary at all times, say it at every opportunity and wear my Miraculous Medal. Life is full of surprises. Faith is a certainty.
There are many cancer survivors on the forum who have shared their stories. They give us future hope, whether we are ill or not. All the best to you.Since my cancer diagnosis I have worn a necklace with a quote from the great Terry Pratchett's Granny Weatherwax. "I aten't dead yet."
Moorwalker -- keep at it! After my collision with thyroid cancer and subsequent treatment -- I walked Porto-Santiago in 2019 and bought a little silver shell on a chain at the cathedral's store. That hasn't left my neck since.Since my cancer diagnosis I have worn a necklace with a quote from the great Terry Pratchett's Granny Weatherwax. "I aten't dead yet."
