Camino Frances, April 28, 2022 to ???
Greetings, Everyone. I am new to the forum and hope to embark on my first Camino (Frances) - all 500 miles of it - around end of April, first of May. I'm retired, so it won't be a rush. Maybe averaging 15 miles per day. Very excited about this adventure! Buen Camino!

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

My wife and I walked our first camino the year after I retired. Having no prior experience, we found John Brierley's guidebook to be very helpful regarding the towns we'd hike through, the topography, possible places to stay, and suggested stages. He suggested 35 days SJPDP to Santiago including 2 rest days. We allowed 35 days, including one rest day. We've now have hiked CF four times, including Sept-Oct 2021. We allowed 35 days, no rest days and on average we hiked 12 to 15 miles per day. Bob

Hi there. Hope to meet you along the way, so maybe a name and photo on your profile will identify you.

You might want to take a look at this thread as well as some people starting at that time have posted. https://www.caminodesantiago.me/com...-camino-frances-may-1-2022.71213/#post-980100

Hi
I don't know if this will help but I usually set off between 6 and 7 am walked for about 2 hours then take an hour for breakfast. Another 2 hours walking and then an hour for lunch. At this stage consult Brierley or whatever guidebook you choose and choose an alberque between 4 to a maximum 8 kilometre away with a backup choice. This lets you cover 20 - 25 kilometres a day in a comfortable relaxed way. I did my first Camino in 33 days with no rest days and have used it ever since.
Buen Camino
Vince
