Eyeglasses

Hi

Just a mention something that might be of assistance to others. I wear glasses and whenever my optometrist does an eye exam he gives me a card with my prescription. Maybe all optometrists do this. I don't know.

Last Fall I was vacationing in Cuba and in transit I had one of those fluke accidents that resulted in broken and unrepairable eyeglasses. Because I have my prescription with me I was able to get a new pair of glasses that afternoon in Havana and enjoy my trip.

Regards,

John

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Very good advice. Further to that, I would advise carrying photocopies of all prescriptions (vision, hearing, and medications) with you, as well as a copy of your passport.

Hello there, Last time I was on the Camino, I decided to scan and "post" myself such information and emailed it to myself just prior to leaving. This meant that I didn't have to worry about carrying it, but, because the internet is relativley accessible these days on the Camino, I could access it fairly easily should I need to.

Cheers, Janet

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I did the same thing along with a document with all my credit card info (numbers to call if lost, etc.) and passport images and addresses of embassies etc. For security, I encrypted the files and put them on my web mail.
Nothing to lose.
Nothing to get stolen.
Accessible anywhere there is a computer.
