This albergue has a well deserved reputation for pilgrim menus, but the dorm is unclean , a mixture of various beds and matteresses most covers stained and not recently washed, they do give you a woven paper cover but i could not bring myself to stay, i dont think they could have bedbugs, they too would not stay , i retreated to the Xunta back up the hill. It was so nice when compared.

At the xunta albergue i noticed the woven paper sheets had a strong chemical smell when initially unwrapped, the smell was similar to my sleeping bag bed bug treatment.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Yes, that is the one. There is some construction occurring, if it is a new albergue i hope they invest in new beds, the old ones look like they donated used beds, in Australia the charity organisations would refuse to accept them, the owners dog wandered freely in and out of the dorm. It is identified as donativo, but in reality it is 5 euro, an amount that i did not seek to have refunded, i was just glad to be walking back up the hill. I felt for the spanish family that had just started their camino at 1600 they were turned away from the Xunta, i saw them in the morning having coffee, mum and dad seemed cheerful and had no visible bites the kids mus have still bee in bed? )

I stayed in the new build you mentioned. It is still not complete but is operational

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
So this is a few years later and I'm looking for a place to stay somewhere in the middle between Sarria and Portomarin, NOT at Casa Morgade. I need 3 rooms. Does anyone have any feedback on good places to stay? Thanks!

Albergue Mercadoiro is great, but it is about three kilometers past Ferreiro. Good luck, que la luz de Dios alumbre su camino.

Edit: There is a nice mercado about 300 meters past the albergue [for your second sello].
