The Xunta is Galicia's regional government, so its publications tend to stop at the same place its sovereignty stops, which on the Primitivo is at the Alto de Acebo.

I was aware of that and just mentioned it would have been nice to have this for the whole camino.

Too bad that even the official documents/websites from the Xunta still don't show the via romana between San Roman and Ferreira as the official way; this is a screen shot of the map as it is shown on the Xunta's site:

It is a mistake: the actually official camino, since some years ago, is the so called "via romana", which goes a bit further North (through Burgo de Negral and Pacio). The previously official camino (the one displayed in the map, going through Vilamaior and Xende) is no longer maintained by the Xunta or the concellos at all. Ok, so the via romana is still not stone marked, but it will soon be, and nevertheless, the way is clearly marked with arrows that I myself take care of maintining in good conditions permanently, so no one gets lost. Plus it is shorter in distance and nicer in landscape :)

It is also a pity that the Xunta doesn't include information about private albergues in their web sites promoting the Camino de Santiago, but this is a different topic...

Hi, has anyone walked the Primitivo in mid-October? What was it like? Weather, tracks and accommodation? I plan to walk from Oviedo to Lugo only, then bus to Santiago after. Thanks for your input.
