From Finisterre to Madrid

“Not all those who wander are lost.”
Time of past OR future Camino
2009/10/11/12/13/14/15/16 and this June 2017
We are going to walk the second part of the Camino this year. Last year we walked from SJPP to Sahagun and this year we are walking form Sahagun to finisterre.

We are arriving in finisterre on the 27th or 28th of july ( It's the holy year so we are in Santiago on the 25th of july).

I want to go back from Finisterre to Madrid on the 28th or 29th of july. I want to go from Finisterre to Santiago by bus and from Santiago to Madrid by train. I looked on the website of renfe and an international train tablet, but I cannot find any connections.

Can anybody help me?

Thx and greetz from Amsterdam!

I lloked at the time table of Renfe again, and I can't go any further than the 12th of june... :(

Hi Marcel

I found that i could not book train tickets on the internet until 3 months before the date of travel.

Two years ago I did as you intend. About a 3 hour bus trip from Finistere to Compostela, and then an overnight sleeper to Madrid, leaving that evening, and arriving about 7 A.M. I booked the train ticket 4 days before departure.

Hey Alan,

Thanks for your help. I'm going to do some planning by the time table that is available at this moment. And when I see july I'll do my definite planning..

Did you book via internet or at the station? And did you also made a booking for the bus from Finisterre?

Grtz Marcel

Hi Marcel

We queued at the bus stop in Finistere, and bought our tickets from the driver as we boarded. The bus left about 11 A.M. and was full. The train ticket was bought at the station in Compostela. I don't know what the first class bunks are like but in tourist or second class the bunks are only long enough for people of 170 cm or shorter, which suited me nicely. My travelling companion of 188 cm had his feet sticking out the end of the bed all the way to Madrid.

Buen camino
