The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi there spizziridda,

One way would be to travel by bus from Santander to Lugo, then change bus for the short ride to Sarria. The only problem is that the Alsa bus ( http://www.alsa.es ) leaves Santander at 03.30 in the morning (and arrives in Lugo at 10.50). Not ideal. For how to get from Lugo to Sarria there is more here:

An alternative is to try the train, but I could not find any easy connections. Try at http://www.renfe.es

If you need hotel in Santander, have a look here:

This one seems to be close to the bus station:

An alternative would be to see if the Spanish airlines have a super-sale (sometimes they do), but you most likely would have to fly via Madrid/Barcelona...

Have a wonderful trip!

Un saludo,

(By the way, I will be going to Roma next week!)

thanks!

Standtander to Sarria

Hello Laura,

There is another option - you could travel from Santander to Santiago by Alsa bus and then get a bus to Sarria.

There are 3 Alsa busses from Santander to Santiago - just depends on what time you get into Santander. (Prices are one way and return)

If you are prepared to sleep over in Santander and take the the early - very early morning bus, you could just change to a Sarria bus at the Santiago bus terminal when you get there. You might have to sleep over in Santander and take one of the mid-day busses instead.

03:30 13:15 39,32€ 74,71€

12:15 21:15 39,32€ 74,71€

13:45 21:15 44,02€ 85,68€

Check them out here:

Hope you find a solution that suits you.

thanks!!!!

at the end I found:
train from Santander (15:45) to Leon (20:00) overnight in Leon and then on the 27 departure very early (5:45!!!!) by train to Sarria (arrival about 9:40)

I could fligh directly from rome to santiago but I wanted to arrive there for the first time walking, having a suprise, this is the reason of this different itinerary!!!! ; )
anyway..do you have suggestion to sleep in leon? can I sleep in a albergue and when I arrive to sarria I have to go to an albergue for the sellos?
thanks for your help....I'm alone and I have just 8 days so I would plann something (not all!)
ciao!

Santander to Sarria

Clever girl! That's the way to go!
You can sleep in the monastery albergue in Leon - just make sure you get there before lights out at 10pm.
You can also stay in the albergue in Sarria. You can get a sellos almost anywhere - in the albergues, churches, some tourist offices, cafe bars etc.
Have a wonderful, wonderful walk into Santiago.

Santander to Sarria

Hey Laura - I'm sorry my dear but I don't think the convent is going to be an option for you as they lock the doors until 6am!!
I have checked the CSJ Guide book and there is Hostal Aviedo near the station for E23.
Perhaps this would be a better option seeing that you have to be up so early?
Go well.
(PS: I will be walking to Rome from Lak Leman in June and July)

i take note!
if you come to rome, and if you want, please contact me. where do you come from? i leave very close to the termini station, in the centre.
