Welcome and Buen Camino, Cherirae. Spain has a good train service, so look into this. A bus might be a good idea, although not as quick as a train, of course. Some pilgrims begin their walk from Pamplona - avoiding the steep climb to SJPdP - so look at getting there too. It's south of SJPdP. Tell you what, you're going to have a ton of fun checking out the many alternatives available to you - the pre-planning definitely wets your appetite and makes the trip very real.
