I had an issue with the heat today and called the Italian version of 911 for help finding a taxi and also where exactly I was in Italy. They sent 2 EMT's and an ambulance. They checked me out, told me to drink more water and get out of the sun. Then one of the attendants went into a business and asked them to call me a taxi so they would know where to go. Finally, she asked Wendy if it was ok to give me one of those Italian 2 cheek kisses. It was and she did.
I'm feeling fine now and considering having some more heat problems if this is an example of emergency health care in Italy.
