Time of past OR future Camino
i'll be travelling the camino on the first half of september 2017
Hi everybody,
I'll be arriving at Barcelona airport on 2.9 (saturday) @ about 17:00 p.m.
My wish is to sleep in pamplona on this day so i can start travelling the camino on the next morning.
The problem is that i can't understand which trains/buses leave to Pamplona on that hour. I saw earlier trains but they don't help me because I will arrive on the Airpot only @ 17:00 p.m.
The other option of course is to sleep in Barcelona and take a train to Pamplona early in the morning but that will waste the entire day...

can anyone help me with this please?

Neither RENFE or the ALSA bus company show any trains or buses later than 17:00 on the day you mention. You are aware that the distance between the two cities is nearly 500km and the fastest journey time by train is nearly four hours? I think it very unlikely that you could arrive at Barcelona airport at 17:00 and spend the night in Pamplona.

i don't mind spending 4 hours of travelling even if i get to pamplona around 23:00. my only question is: is there any other option that leaves barcelona after 17:00? i checked all websites but i couldn't get a straight answer.

Have you heard of blablacar? You might be lucky and find a driver going from Barcelona to Pamplona.... just search on internet, and good luck.

If you arrive in Barcelona at 17:00, that is the time the plane lands. Now get off the plane, get luggage, find the Metro / bus / train to the main train station - add another hour or so. If security is high, like now, it may take longer to get through those checks. Add another hour. Travel time to the RENFE train station is about 1 hour from the airport. Give yourself at least 30 minutes to find things in a new place.

You will not get to the RENFE trains until 20:00. There are no trains to Pamplona that late.

Spend the night in Barcelona, take the early train to Pamplona. Plan 1 hour from your location to the RENFE station, then 4 hours on the train, then 30 minutes to get to the bus station, then 1.5 hours on the bus before you get to St. Jean. That is a full day of travel, add a bit of time to eat lunch, get snacks for the train trip. Taking the earliest train to Pamplona, you will arrive in St Jean at about 13:00 to 14:00.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I have just looked. There are 2 possibilities on Sunday 3rd, early morning from Barcelona. One is from El Prat, which could be the airport. If you are interested, I could investigate for you, unless you are comfortable in Spanish and can do it yourself.
