I will cycle the Camino in October

Time of past OR future Camino
I will start my Camino around the 12/15 of October 2015
hello I am new to this group, and thank you for allowing me to join,
I am planning to begin my Camino October 12/15 th 2015. Not sure the exact date I will arrive in SJPDP yet because I am not going to rush once I arrive in Pairs.
I am however planning to ride the Camino since I have been advised by my doctor it would be better on my injured knee. I also plan to walk when I am able for a little bit pushing my bike for a small portion, like up hills and steep downhills. Maybe sounds crazy but I think it's will be a adventure.
I am not planning too much, because I just want the freedom to let things happen and go with the flow. In my home life I am a real type A. I am going to change that somewhat for this Camino.
I have also decided if what I have not planned doesn't work the way I think it will, then I will just see what I need to adjust or change and do it then and there.
I bought a plane ticket last April, and then again in July... Embarrassed to tell that both times I backed out the day I was set to fly. I was so scared to go alone, and other factors at home had some part to that happening too.
I would like very much in this forum to make some friends whom I can talk thru some of the worries and or the problems that arise along the way, maybe just a little venting too.
Anybody here ever cycled the camino? How about pictures of your bike set up?
Advice and input so much appreciated .
Thank you from Raylene in Alaska USA.

Hi Raylene.
Welcome to the forum. Your trip is coming up very soon! If you like, I can add your name to the thread with a list of people starting their Camino in October 2015. (Please let me know, on this thread or on the October one if you want me to do so.) I expect that most of them will be walking, but as long as you ring your bell before whizzing past us, we will be friendly. In fact, I will be starting in SJPP on October 14, so I might see you there. You will have to search other threads to get information about bicycling, as I can't help you with that.

Hi Raylene, I backed out of my first camino this year too, last month. I just became very anxious about the trip over all. I am sure we are not alone on that scenario. Bob

Welcome to the forum. Spend some time here, there is a lot to read on cycling, and it runs the full range from terrific information to ummm, well, less terrific. My posts certainly span a range. (Be prepared for endless remarks on having a bell, though common sense and courtesy is far more important. Most cyclists co-exist with the walkers very well, but unfortunately some cyclists don't.)

Try this thread for starters:

By all means, go! You will have a great time, and everyone out there is fun to meet and talk to.

Go light. don't over plan.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Thank you Bob,
I'm going forward and just going to take it day by day and see how it goes.
Have a great time. I am sure it will be very positive. I think flexibility and being in the moment is the key. Of course, I am hoping the best for you and your camino. Been camino! Bob
