St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
A day when I just wanted to walk. And the 100km walking challenge.

Bravo!
That is the essence really : because you wanted to walk!

That is the glorious thing about walking a Camino! There are no rules about walking daily distances.
As long as we stay kind to each other when meeting, nothing else matters! :)

There have been some other threads here about walking long days. If I would have the stamina I would certainly try it out too.

Woah, @camino8004, you walked 1400 km in 50 days - that's 28 km daily on average. It would have taken me much longer. Were you already used to long-distance walking before you started your Camino combination?

I see that you sometimes walked against the usual flow of Camino peregrinos: from Melide to Oviedo and Leon-Sahagún-Madrid. I guess that you did not meet many pilgrims coming towards you on the Camino to Madrid in October?

IIRC the longest I ever walked was about 38 km. I did it in 9 hours which incl maybe 1 hr of breaks. totally flat ground. Walked it I did but boy-oh-boy was I tired afterwards 😩
BTW - this was during my preparation for Camino and it sort of didn't do me too much of good as I set different expectations of myself based on that result and found out very fast that 38km on flat ground in Pennsylvania = about 5km in Pyrenees :)

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi, I am impressed, and I guess and hope you felt good while walking. You seem to have walked a bit more than 4 km/h, right? (Sarria-Santiago) At that pace you can really take in the surroundings and I have found that pace to be the least associated with injuries on the Camino, although I prefer to walk faster 'at home' (5-6 km/h). It is a wonderful feeling to experience the body strength, without getting injuries. I wish you the best for future Caminos. And thank you for sharing.

There was some talk last year about letting civilian teams join in the annual BRILAT challenge on the Portugues. For old times sake perhaps?

Rosa Mota took it easy over six days. I always liked to think she wouldn't run it even though she certainly could. https://www.jn.pt/arquivo/2006/rosa-mota-vai-correr-nos-caminhos-de-santiago-531050.html/amp/
