Time of past OR future Camino
First July 2016
I am newbie and am walking the Camino this July. I know July is not the best time but it is the only time I have to do it. I plan on starting in Pamplona and am wondering if 30 days is enough time to make it from Pamplona to Santiago?

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

For anyone of average fitness with no particular issues, 30 days should be fine. It means an average of 24kms/15 miles per day so not too demanding.

Buen Camino,

What really determines success on this walk is how well you listen to your body. I had started in SJPDP but it took me 29 days from Pamploma with no rest days. Do the best you can but don't do any force marches. After all it will be the best 30 days you can have.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Thank you both for alleviating some of my time concerns. I have booked a place in Pamplona but am also wondering if I need to book other hostels before I go? My friend walked the same route six years ago and she said occasionally she would book a place a day or two in advance. Is that still ok to do or will it be so busy that I should book more in advance? Thank you again for your help.
