Time of past OR future Camino
cf (2), de la plata, cp. (2003 -2018)
5 weeks to go and practically crippled with arthritis left side particularly knee! not amused so booked my hostal in seville for 16th sep and waved confirmation at myself in the mirror! "That'll larn ye!" i shouted just before my neighbour donned the white coat!:)
then rediscovered spool of kt tape in one of the many hidey holes i keep for camino gear. this time round i paid attention to the video and put it on most carefully. IT WORKS. OH JOY! OH BLISS! THE PAIN STILL THERE but i'm walking. i wonder how much truth there is in old wives tale about us sufferers telling the change when our knees play up before the rains? eh? it would be nicer to just hang the weather forecasters! :)
uk media telling of large fires in Caceres region so stay vigilant, stay safe and buen camino!

Honestly, gentle walking HELPS my arthritis.
Just take it slow and remember, there's no shame in taking a bus or taxi part way.
Hang in there and Buen Camino!

Yes, Annie. It takes only a few days walking and all my backaches disappear. It happens every camino. If I kept walking I could probably save a fortune in osteo bills ;)

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
@malingerer, Great you found something to help your knees. I have some knee problems so I'm bringing some kinesio tape with me. I know everybody says don't bring this or that because you can get it in modern Spain but read a post about someone having trouble getting it on CF even in a couple of bigger cities. I'm going to be on Vdlp starting from Almaden de la Plata on 9/17, so might see you.
Buenos Camino!

I have been "training" and today the weight of the full pack started to cause slight pain in my knee and I am leaving in 20 days! As a 55 year old with a relatively newly minted knee replacement I loved reading your post which gives me hope and I especially enjoy your turn of phrase. I have decided that I will do my very best but most importantly go at my own pace.

I’m leaving in 11 days for my CP. I live in California and would not drink tap water unless it’s filtered however I remember drinking from plenty of fountains in Spain. Is it the same in Portugal...
Does anyone have news of the man receiving CPR on the Camino yesterday (May 4) just north of San Miguel on the way to Padron? Grateful for the many Pilgrims, including a nurse, who were helping...
Including myself, I have heard of a good few people are experiencing Gastrointestinal issues between Burgos and Ledigos. Anyone else find this and is the situation wider than this area.
Hello all, I’m a first time peregrina walking solo on the Portugues Central route. I have injured my right knee and cannot walk. I can barely hobble right now. Since the weekend is coming up I...
Hi all, It's been a while since I posted here, but happy to be back. I hiked about 100 miles in 2015, loved it, and the Camino got into me and became part of me. That pilgrimage resulted in a...
