I second this recommendation! The owner is a lovely woman who really does try to be helpful. I watched her trying to deal with tourists who were not very kind or reasonable. She remained pleasant even under difficult circumstances. When some underwear and a couple of shirts turned up missing, after some tearful (on my part as I was at my wits end as pilgrim having no fall back items) and her diligence in searching every pile and machine, we did not find the articles. She asked me for fair market value of the lost items--I had to convert from US dollars to euro which by that time was fairly easy. She gave me the money in cash. A day later I found the items--they had gotten stuck down behind something else--and I walked back and handed her the money and more laundry. She thanked me for my honesty and then cheerfully reminded me I needed to be back before 1 p.m. because it was Saturday. I used the time to walk down to Cortes Ingles because I hadn't gotten all my exercise for the day!!! There are lots of shops and tiendas in this area as well as small bars. Much better to do your grocery shopping in this area than in the old city.
