Beautiful photography, John. Your mention of and picture of Cruceiro de Santo Toribio helped me find this place that I couldn't find a picture of anywhere - Justo de la Vega. I met a dog there at the cross with the most peculiar habit. He seemed to be greeting the peregrinos coming in, but when he came close as if to be petted, he slowly opened his jaws and gently put them around my leg....but never bit down - almost as if to cause alarm, but not to do any harm. Then he followed me down to town and tried to do it again. It was so strange. And slimy.
