Less than 48 hours until I fly to Toulouse! (I've got the last minute jitters!)

I still have to buy a few things to prepare! I'm excited, nervous, and emotional. I am filled with love and also a little panic.

This is more than a long walk and the spiritual significance is honestly a little frightening as much as it is inspiring.

I will go with an open and flexible heart and mind, as well as a brave soul.

Buen Camino Everyone!

gwenc,

Oh happy day as you leave to begin your journey!

Have a wonderful Camino! May all your dreams come true.

As Sir Walter Raleigh wrote in the 16th century in His Pilgrimage

"GIVE me my scallop-shell of quiet,
My staff of faith to walk upon,
My scrip of joy, immortal diet,
My bottle of salvation,
My gown of glory, hope's true guage;
And thus I'll take my pilgrimage....
"

Buen camino and in the truest sense, Ultreia!

I started my latest walk at Toulouse in mid May - and had leisure enough to explore the city for a day. What a wonderful city it is! Far more enjoyable than I'd expected it to be!

And see if that special Camino exhibition has opened at the Church of the Jacobins! It was "under construction" when I passed through, and so I was unable tro see it....

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

I am flying into Toulouse and heading straight to Lourdes for a night. I want to see the Grotto and perhaps partake in the spring.

Beautiful! Thank you for this. I didn't know Sir Walter Raleigh did a pilgrimage walk.

Lourdes is a strange and wonderful place, Gwen! If you can, sit by the grotto for a time in the very early morning, simply being in the moment and listening to the sound of the candles guttering and the water flowing over the rocks.....

Are you walking from there to SJPP, or to Somport/Jaca? In either case, Godspeed.
