Hi all,

Last weekend while sleeping in an alpine hut, in a burst of frustration for being squeezed by my liner I litterally tore it apart. So I need a new one.
- one that allows me to move around in without choking me
- one that protects the mattress (and perhaps the pillow too) and me from each other.
- light (as in breathable)
- light (as in weight)

What are your suggestions?

Thanks!!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I bought it but had no chance to use it so far:

not the lightest on the market, but kinda doubles as a PJ. Might be worth having a look at.

It was somewhat costly, but I am very fond of my Sea to Summit silk liner. Plenty of pros (light, soft, free from allergens, dries fast, good insulation). The only con for me is that the pillow slip cover is prone to get smudgy quick. Especially when you use sunscreen during the day and don't wash your face before bed. I just carry an extra old pillowcase now. And don't get the mummy model, get the roomy rectangular one (with stretchy sidepanels) if you dont want to get squeezed again. Or the double.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Buy some silk fabric and make a bag in the size and shape you prefer. For easy entry, leave one side and, possibly, the bottom open, with zipper, snaps or Velcro tabs to close it.

As I can't stand being confined while sleeping, I did the following:
I bought a 180 gram rectangular silk liner (80 cm wide) with pillow compartment and cut it open in an inverted T-shape (see picture 1) to open it up completely and now it works like a flat sheet but still has the pillow feature. It is broad enough to perfectly stay in place even during a night of tossing and turning. I cover / uncover myself as needed with my lightweight (480 gr) SeaToSummit down bag which I use unzipped as a blanket.

Being ex navy I thought liners were sea going! Being choked in one under alpine conditions had me baffled for a while but then whatever floats your boat :)
