I just received a battery pack for charging my iphone and the packing said forbidden for transport aboard passenger aircraft?! is this true? I can't believe this so many must travel with chargers?

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-

Do check the watt hours of your power bank. The FAA permits power banks with 100 Watt hours or less without Airline approval and 100 to 160 watt hours (Wh) with Airline approval. My two Anker power banks are both rated at 37 Wh, and they are both 10000 mAh units. With Anker you actually have to download the manual to check the watt hours or look on the back of the unit, if you already have it.

Amazon sells units with more than 100Wh capacity so you do need to check.

I can't imagine very many pilgrims carrying a big, heavy power bank that's over the limit.
I bring a small one that's 5000 mAH.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I carried a small power bank for a Camino or two when finding an outlet not in use in an albergue was difficult. Now it seems most private albergues have plenty of outlets. One less thing to carry. Buen camino

I take mine all the time but must be in hand baggage.

Silvery lithium’s great strength is also its biggest weakness. It’s unstable. It explodes. A lithium-ion laptop battery holds as much energy as a hand grenade

In two Caminos my cell phone battery never got so low that I needed to carry a powerbank.

As mentioned above, there are power outlets everywhere, including bars where you will inevitably end up for refreshments of some kind.

Otherwise, choose flight mode and just download your maps in advance, as your GPS will work with no problems at all in flight mode. Will lead to a more relaxing walk too!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
This is very much a matter of the condition of your phone battery, as well as the apps used.
Of course, can't mitigate against a poor battery, in that case a battery bank could make sense. But with airplane mode selected it cuts off all the apps. Just an option that works for me.

I used to use battery saver mode, but now what works for me is to turn off wifi and blue tooth and set the screen rotation to portrait mode only. My phone will usually last the day, unless I take a lot of photos or am just using it a lot. When it does need charging during the day, I like to have the power bank so I'm not stuck somewhere waiting for it charge up.
