Looking for my missing brother.

miofratello

New Member
Hello,

My brother Tom Moore went missing from his family over 5 years ago. He is a keen Christian who really enjoys going to pilgrimage sites such as Lourdes. He has walked the Camino De Compostella before and has also gone to Medjugorje in Bosnia and likely Fatima in Portugal.
Here is a web address with lots of pictures of Tom: http://www2.chilhavisto.rai.it/CLV/lett ... Thomas.htm

It is possible that you may have seen this man on your pilgrimages or that you may see him. If so, I would be very grateful if you could contact me through this site. His family have accepted his dissappearance but it would be nice for them to know he is OK.

Peace

Simon

PS: please see below for images of Tom.

On my (so far) one and only trip on the Camino Portuguese, no. But you will absolutely be in my (and I'm sure everyone elses) prayers. Wishing you the best,

Peace, Krin

A guide to speaking Spanish on the Camino - enrich your pilgrim experience.
I'm sorry you are so worried. It must be difficult for your family.
But it seems nobody has seen your brother.
You and he are in my prayers.

Pilgrims headed for Spain could help the search for the missing brother by taking a couple of copies of the photos and information provided in this thread, and distributing them at albergues along the way. It would not weight much! Right click a photo and save it to a folder on your computer; upload the photo into any photo manipulation software; add some text with the contact information; print six or eight to an 8 1/2 x 11 page on a color printer; cut into individual photos. Visualize how it will feel to actually locate the missing person!

That's a good idea!
Buen Camino,

I think help is still needed in finding the brother. If you can print out one of the photos and take it with you, some hospitalero/a may have information that will help.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Rude. If personal, family motives were any of our business, which they are not, then publicly impugning them without ascertaining privately what they are, is quite rude. Common courtesy would dictate a Private Message at a minimum. The proper choice here is between helping with the search or not.

I don't mean to be rude, but has anyone considered that the brother may not WANT to be found?

Not rude at all, in my opinion. Spot on, actually.

I happen to be a police officer and I get caught in the middle of these all the time. And in my experience, when an adult goes missing, it's usually because they want to be missing.

I was wondering if someone was going to point out that possibility- thanks Annie.

If you are interested in helping with this quest, consider taking a printout of a photo on your pilgrimage. It would be quite voluntary, of course, and only if you support the objective.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Thanks Telluridewalker, for your support.
John and I are acquainted and he's assured me he was not offended.

I think Falcon has a secret crush on me.
If feels a bit like the boys in school who were mean to you but really wanted to kiss you! :::laughing::
I say red, he says green.
I say yes, he says no. ::shrug::
At any rate, I'm beginning to enjoy his attention!

Perhaps I'll see him on the trail and throw him a kiss.
In the meantime, peace to all.

No Hay de Que.

There's a old saying among the police in New York City (my hometown):

"Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear."

In the age if the Internet, I'd add an addendum:

"Double that thought."

-John

PS: Lest you think me insensitive, know that I've been in public service for 15 years "because I like to help people."

If you would like to help find the missing brother, print out a photo and take it with you.

Simon would still like help, so if you are so inclined, take a photo on your pilgrimage, and help put Tom in contact with his concerned family.

Help if you would like. Print a photo from the above posts and you may be able to help the gentleman find his brother.

Greetings, Simon!

I am a new member and I came upon your request to find your missing brother. Since almost a year has elapsed since the last entry, I would like to know the status of your quest. I am going on Camino in September and would willingly carry a photo and BOLF Tom, if necessary.

Peace,

Ivor
