Luggage transport Portugúes Coastal route recommendations

Time of past OR future Camino
September, 2023; walking 13 days total.
Hi, we are departing from Porto early September starting with the Senda Litoral and then merging with the central and also taking the variante espiritual, merging again to Santiago.

I've searched for threads about luggage transport but can't find one specific to the Portugúes or this route. Has anyone used luggage transport with success and have a company they can recommend?

I have no idea how much it costs or how reliable it is. I've read some posts about luggage arriving late, etc. We are staying in a combination of guesthouses and albergues. Thank you in advance, this forum is so helpful!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Tuitrans does the Coastal, spiritual and Central routes from Porto.

I used them to take my lugagge from Porto directly to Santiago, where it wanted for me in the hotel. They were very easy to deal with via email. I did not used the stage by stage service, although they do offer it.

Direct to Santiago costed me €25 at the time. I believe you will need to quote with them if you want stage by stage.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

We did that same route last year. Tui Transport would only move our luggage if we had every location booked, or at least planned in advance, which we didn’t. We used Caminofacil and had a spotty experience with them. Twice they didn’t pick up our luggage and we were notified by our destination that it hadn’t arrived. We did tell them when booking what we were doing. And on another time it took multiple phone calls and assistance from a bar owner where we were staying on the phone with them to finally find our bag at about 9:30 p.m. Like I said most was good but we had to be on them every day. But of course your mileage may vary.

We used JacoTrans the four times we hiked Camino Frances and they provided superb, cost effective service. This fall I am hiking Camino Portuguese, several days on the coastal route, then crossing inland.
I contacted them several months ago, asking if they had a partnership with other transport services in Portugal and was delighted to learn they transport from Porto to Santiago. I have reservations for private rooms every night. I sent them my itinerary and they provided a discounted price. I now have my hangtag and am all set to go. Bob

PILBEO! I’ve walked many Caminos… in France, SPAIN, the Norte, Frances… just walked Portugúes in spring 2023 and Pilbeo was the BEST luggage transport I have ever used. Well priced, met all our stop requirements (we had more stops than the usual, and took longer) - also have a great app that tracks everything. Very handy. Let us add another person last minute, as he realized he couldn’t carry his pack after trying it for a day. Five-star recommendation!

I used TOP Santiago and they were great. I decided a few days into my camino that I needed bag transport and used tuitrans the first day. I didn't find them helpful and they wouldn't transport to the next place I had booked. TOP did. I thought they were great value too and easy to deal with via WhatsApp and PayPal.

Fabulous! I will contact them also, thank you! Ha ha! Reminds me of my husband...we did a 30 day backpack through Europe. He really struggled with his backpack which is why we are using a service now and just carrying a lumbar pack!

Robin, I’m also from NC and doing the same path starting early September. Maybe we’ll run into each other! Buen camino.
