Meeting up with people

Hello all! A fine friend of mine has decided to take the plunge and meet up with me for a week on the Camino. I'll be into my third week at the time she arrives- my question is: what is the best way to meet up with someone? We will be without telephones. I can email her my approximate whereabouts before her flight leaves (I figure I will be somewhere around Leon), but I am wondering how to avoid stressing us both out trying to actually find each other. Any tips are appreciated...

It is very easy to stay in contact with friends via email while on your Camino. Most hostels have email facilities (caminoguide.net) through which you can update your friend on your progress and location. The Camino is well serviced by bus and train, especially the major towns and cities, so by using these facilities I anticipate that you will have little difficulty meeting your friend.
Many Pilgrams carry phones - Last year I shared mine with others to enable people to contact family & friends for similar purposes.

may the road rise to meet you.

remember that for her a short taxi trip will get her to a point where she can wait for you to turn up while it could mean a whole day walking for you. So maybe she could get to a town ahead of you and wait for you, sitting in the sunshine outside a cafe ? by your third week you will have a good idea of how your walking is going and where you should be within one day's walk at the most, barring injuries or adventures. What you dont want is both of you on the walk, going forward thinking the other is ahead (I speak from experience here) and so a meet you at the cafe opposite the church in x town tomorrow or the day after might be best.
