The aging peregrino looks back, misty-eyed...

I was near the cathedral in the Plaza del Rey San Fernando, Burgos, on the late afternoon of Sunday, 13 Sept 2015, and snapped the attached photo of a most impressive procession.... Alas, I've forgotten what the occasion was! Anyone got a suggestion?

I think it's the procession of SANTO CRISTO (Saint Christ), one of the most populars in the city.

I think it's the procession of SANTO CRISTO (Saint Christ), one of the most populars in the Holy week, on Holy Sunday.
You would think so given the guy being carried...but @rappahannock_rev said it was September. So unless Easter moved when I wasn't looking, it has to be something else.

Edit~Besides, in the Semana Santa processions, everybody's wearing those pointy hats. The people here look like clergy, and this has a whole different vibe.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
You're right, the Santo Cristo procession is in September; sorry for my error. I've corrected the message. There are so many processions in Spain...
That Christ has a nice legend:
It's said that a rich merchant from Burgos went to Holy Land by ship. When he was returning he remenbered that he had promised to bring a present to the monks of a certain church.
He then saw a case in the waters and picked it. Inside the case was the figure of the Saint Christ.
He brought it to the city and when he crossed the city walls all the Church Bells in the city began to sound.
Nowadays the Christ is held in the Cathedral.
