And so...we keep on walking ..
- Time of past OR future Camino
- Camino Lebaniego y Vadiniese - October 2022
Hello peregrinos, I decided to come from the US to walk with some friends for a couple of days. O'cebreiro was awesome. We walked to Triacastela and then to Sarria, spent the night in a wonderful alberque privado called el Paloma. From Sarris we went to Porto Marin, another crowed place, finally fromPorto Marin to Casanova to get ahead. We were pulling over 40km daily. The weather has been incredible warm and enjoyable.
So far the Camino has been busy, very busy. I also notices some issues that I have not seen before, a LOT LOT LOT of older folks, I am talking over 70, I am also am also an older guy, but my philosophy has always been to be a pilgrim, a true one.
I have met some of great folks while in the Camino been to be a great pilgrim and to enjoy the experience. Yesterday in the alberque municipal de Casanova, I observed 2 older ladies, arguing with the hospitlera and many pilgrims. They wanted to go to bed at 8:00 Pm, and were arguing with some peregrines, about having no light on at 8:00 PM. Then the wasn't back to the hospital era because she wanted to be no shoes in the room. Finally the hospital era, a very nice lady, told her the rules of the game, she complain all night long. It was a very interesting experience, why. Many people think that American's are always spoiled. The light stayed on. And the 2 old complained about their age and that they needed rest. Really, really complain that they were over 70, and should be able to "get what they wanted".
After been told not they began to act like children, really a disgrace for us.
If you are a senior be aware of the alberge rules. Lights out at 10, if this is an issue, stay somewhere else.
On the other side, today folks swimming at the Ribadizo alberque, and just plane HOT, in ARZRin a small pension, enjoy all of this Camino.
Loving it and living it!!!!
Buen Camino
