My daughter is walking the Camino this summer and I will be meeting her for the last 10 days or so. Where I meet her will depend on her location on a specific date rather than assigning a specific location now.

I know I can get a passport in Sarria, but if I meet her prior to that can I get one along the way?

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I'm not fully versed. If I get it in advance, does someone 'register' me where I start or are there only designated starting points?

Can I get into the hostels without one?

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
You can start your camino at any location along the route. Your first stop will provide your first stamp for your Pilgrim Passport. You need a Pilgrim Passport in order to stay in pilgrim albergues. You do not need one to stay in regular tourist accommodation. If you wish to receive a Compostela when you arrive in Santiago de Compostela your must have a Pilgrim Passport stamped twice daily showing that you have walked at least 100 km.

Is there a list of albergues that also have private rooms on the Camino Frances? Gracias.

I started out from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port on 1 May. It turned out to be an unforgetable day. Above 1,000 m or so it snowed, catching many people unprepared. Later that day "many" walkers were...
And another attempt looms, to buy a decent Poncho after trying and failing in the previous two likely towns. Anyone know where an Altos or similar might be bought in Leon, please? 😁
