I've been Camino walking in 2009 (SJPP-Burgos), 2011 (Burgos-Santiago) and 2012 (Santiago-Finisterre-Muxia-Finisterre).
This forum has been one of my favourite dwelling places online while planning for my pilgrim walks.
I am often so inspired by other members signature quotes and other Pilgrim/Walking/Nature quotes and it would be great if we could share some of these words of wisdom with eachother in this post!

Here is one of my favourite quotes, and another favourite is in my signature! :)

"Above all, do not lose your desire to walk. Every day I walk myself into a state of well-being and walk away from every illness. I have walked myself into my best thoughts, and I know of no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it." ~Soren Kierkegaard

This one by Ralph Waldo Emerson is a special favorite and most accurate.

Few people know how to take a walk. The qualifications are endurance, plain clothes, old shoes, an eye for nature, good humor, vast curiosity, good speech, good silence and nothing too much...., Country Life, 1858

What a great idea Hali and I love your quote.

The one I would like to share is in Spanish, it's my "signatuare" and can be found on the Via de la Plata:

I've got a whole blog full of quotes that I found Camino-inspiring, together with some of my Camino photos from 2008. I found it quite hard to choose just one quite for here, but finally I settled on this one- from "Praying" - a poem by Mary Oliver:
"this isn't a contest but the doorway into thanks,
and a silence in which another voice may speak."

I think I learned a lot about being thankful when I walked the Camino, for all sorts of reasons.
I hadn't looked at that blog recently, but chances are I will be inspired by some quotes shared here and will add to it. For anyone interested in more 'Camino quotes', it's at:

I like this quote "Room for everyone" from fellow forum member and Santiago resident, Mr Johnnie Walker. For me, it encapsulates everything about the Camino.

Within days of starting our pilgrimages we met people of all ages from many different countries. We also found: some had prepared, some hadn't; some carried huge rucksacks, some had almost nothing on their backs; some were shy, some outgoing; some believed in God, some didn't; some were happy, some sad; some had changed their lives, others liked life as it was. We met people who had lost partners, and couples walking with their children; some who had experienced broken hearts, and many who were falling in love with life.

We all walked the same road and when we got to Santiago Cathedral there was a place for each of us. Every one.
