Portuguese April

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Thanks, I was lucky with the weather last year at the same time just one wet day and perfect temperatures high teens low 20’s an amazing week with wonderful people

A selection of Camino Jewellery
I walked in early April in 2017 from Porto and we didn't have a single shower all the way to Santiago. In fact it was unseasonably warm, high 20's and even low thirties C on a few days. Luck of the draw I guess.

Bom Camino to you. Please disregard this comment if you really want a Compostela and really want to finish in Santiago. If I may make a suggestion to you. I have walked 5 caminos and although the Portuguese is not my number 1. It is beautiful and has lots of choices. I walked the central/interior route from Lisbon 3 years ago. This year I will walk from Lisbon with some of my college friends (I just officially retired last week, very weird) and walk the Coastal/Senda Litoral.
As I said the central route has some beautiful places, and does have more road walking than one would desire. (There is alot of road walking in Spain also). I am really looking forward to walking the coastal route. Last year walked the Norte and the views are breathtaking. So I am looking forward to a much easier Portuguese coast walk.
But the thing that all Portuguese Camino have that no other Camino has is the Portuguese people. I think they are the nicest, warmest and most generous people on earth. I can't tell you how many acts of selflessness and kindness I have encountered. When I finished my last Camino in December I met my daughter in Porto for a week. She told me after a few days that I sometimes tend to exaggerate ALOT (TRUE) but she said I was 100% correct with my assessment. This is not a knock on the Spanish or any other people one may meet along the way. I also think the food in Portugal is generally better than Spain. It is definitely a little cheaper. There are more than enough services for a Pilgrim especially from Porto as that is where most people start from.
Anyway it is just something to think about.
Whatever you do Bom Camino and have a great retirement and new chapter to your life.
