I'm planning to walk the CF from SJPP in late May 2017 and would like to post a package of clean clothes to Santiago from SJPP. Anyone have recommendations/experience?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

In the thread that @mspath has linked to above someone has mentioned that they had a parcel go astray when sent from France. I had the same experience, having something sent a parel from home (in France) to Salamanca. When my husband made enquiries it was clear that the company that La Poste use (DPD) have a really dreadful reputation.

My parcel was going to the main post office in Salamanca. The label was 110% clear and the address 110% correct... the parcel was never delivered and the excuse was that the address was unknown in Salamanca and that they were unable to deliver. The man in the post office in Salamanca implied that this kind of thing was not unusual... and that the problem was always with the French side.

When we tried to get the parcel returned to us La Poste said it would be at least 40 days... if they could find it!

My husband expressed his dismay and displeasure with the service and to be fair we did get a full refund and fortunately my package was returned after 4 weeks. However, from all that we've read about this current company (DPD) and our own expereince, I would never recommend anyone send parcels from France to Spain if DPD is involved... if there is another option then go that route.

I hope this helps

p.s. I can vouch that the system within Spain works very well. I've sent things to Santiago three times and always they arrived in time and with no problems. I've also used Ivar's storage option and this was equally fabulous and very easy... it's sadly only the French DPD company that seems to let things down

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Or just buy new, clean clothes on arrival?

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I was told in SJPP that posting a package to Spain was overly expensive and unreliable. So I carried my extra clothes and stuff 'over the hump' into Pamplona. And I was glad I did--because by then I was more than ready to let go of more things than I would have been able to a few days earlier.... :D
The PO in Pamplona obviously deals with many pilgrims!

The simplest solution is always the best , the whole 800km .
Should be many summer clothes available when you arrive.
