Proximity of Hormilla to the Camino Frances

Time of past OR future Camino
Francés, May - July 2023
I was unable to find lodging in Nájera so I went ahead and booked a room in the (nearby?) small town of Hormilla. The app that I am using to follow the path of the Camino Frances does not have a scale of miles. I am confused, because when I telephoned my hotel in Hormilla
to request directions to their property, they insisted that they are nowhere near the Camino. This seems nonsensical based on what I can see on Google Maps.

Can anybody clarify whether Hormilla is/is not within close/convenient distance of where the closest access point to the Camino? Thank you.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
According to a Spanish government mapping site the closest point the Camino comes to Hormilla is about 2.13km (1.3 miles). Allow a little more because the walking route would not be completely straight.

Certainly there a village by that name North West of Najera, about 2 kms from the Camino.
You can see that on Google maps.
You have seen it too.

The question is.........

Have you got the 'right' Hormilla?

I think if they say they are not near the Camino, they should know......

Or maybe they are not 'on' the Camino, as you know.

How good is your Spanish.......on the phone.

It looks like it's a 6 min taxi ride from Najera.

I find this link to be quite an easy and useful tool to see where the Camino goes without having to load fancy GPS files etc. https://caminofrances.info/

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Thank you everyone, your responses have been quite helpful! I think I will go with the option of using a taxi to get between the Camino and Hormilla.

Last year when I entered Najera, all of the albergues were full. A fellow peregrino and I found Pension San Lorenzo and shared a room for a reasonable price - it was pretty good; two single beds, a bathroom but no breakfast. Just a couple of blocks from the river. Just a thought for you.
