Kiwi-family

{Rachael, the Mama of the family}
Time of past OR future Camino
walking every day for the rest of my life
11-year-old son came to me the other day and said, "Mum I just don't know whether I'm looking forward more to Christmas or to the Camino. There's so much good I'll just burst."

Yesterday he concluded, "I'm going to look forward to Christmas this week and then I'll look forward to the Camino after that."

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
That's lovely, Rachael! Your son sounds a delight - and so sensible too, planning when he will look forward to each event!!

What a sensible lad he is! I'm doing exactly the same - looking forward to Christmas for the next week or so, then starting to plan the Camino Ingles in January.
Buen Camino to all the Kiwi family!

Good on him (your son). At age 11, he has already learned to prioritize events. First things first. Perhaps Santa will leave him items that will be helpful or necessary on the Camino? Hmmm, the proverbial "two birds with one stone..."

Happy Christmas!

We are one of *those* families that doesn't do Santa. We are very intentional about keeping the focus on Jesus and sharing His love in the world, especially through Advent. The kids are looking forward to helping run a dinner for lonely folks in our community this year. They are trying to choose what to do with some money we gave them to give away. They are going to be VERY surprised when they receive a silk liner and journal and socks and water bottle etc We usually share a few small gifts, but this year it seems like lots.
