Hi!

I have walked the Camino Portugues central route from Porto till Redondela and it’s been absolutely wonderful, unfortunately due to some health issues and limited time I will have to be taking transportation from now on.

Which towns between Redondela and Santiago de Compostela did you find special that would be worth stopping and/or staying the night based on your experiences? Why? All tips are very welcome! Thank you :)

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
Pontevedra is a nice little city with fine museums and monuments. Padron is especially interesting for the pilgrim, as it is central to the story of St. James in Iberia, both when he was alive and evangelizing and when he returned after his martyrdom. It is also the source of Padron peppers. :)

Padron is great. Definitely stop by Bar Don Pepe in the morning! It’s right by the church.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Another vote for Pontevedra, the church with round-ish walls is so cute.

In Padron now. Heavy rain all day from Caldas, with the paths under water in many places. A little let up at the moment, so exploring, and it is definitely worth visiting!

I'm very partial here, but Pontevedra for sure.

There's a lot of Camino/St. James' related history in Padrón, so it's also worth a visit.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
I also liked Pontevedra a lot. Go into the tower across from the central church and go up top for a great view. In Padron there is a botanical garden that was a welcome relief on a hot afternoon but is nice anytime. Look for the giant Sequoias…no kidding.
