I want to stay in Orisson my first night and have emailed Orisson Hostal twice with no response. What is the best way to contact them and reserve a room.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Orisson is closed right now, so they are slower than usual to respond. Make sure that you used the correct email address: refuge.orisson@wanadoo.fr

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Hi, Orisson is closed until April 1st

I emailed a similar request for March 2019 two months ago, waited a couple of days and got confirmation. It comes!

There are usually two emails: the one which confirms that you have arranged a reservation, then a second which contains the invoice for payment along with a link.

I am very surprised that you say that you got a confirmation for the Refuge Orisson for March 2019! Is it not a fact that they only open on or after the 1st of April? The trail that leads from Orisson directly to Roncesvalles over the Bentarte pass and Lepoeder pass is closed for Camino pilgrims until 31 March.

If you walk in March you must walk from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port to Valcarlos and then over the Ibañeta pass to Roncesvalles; Refuge Orisson is not on this trail.
