2014 Pamplona-Burgos, 6/2022 Coastal Portuguese
Hi! We want to experience all that we can, so I came up with this route… is this doable?
Flying into Vigo, walking in reverse from Redondela to Tui, crossing over to Caminha, and walking to coastal way to Santiago. Has anyone ever conquered an idea such as this? I’d love to walk through inland AND experience the coast as well! Thanks for any input! -Kelly (I have walked part of the CF Pamplona to Burgos 2014) 😃

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Hi @wanderwoman77

I’m no expert on the Portuguese routes but sounds perfectly feasible to me. And why not? The only challenge I can think of with walking in reverse is way marking but there are ways around that. Others more familiar with the ins and outs of the Portuguese routes may have more useful practical comments 🙏

In general walking in reverse on the northern part of the CP is easier than on other caminos because there are usually blue arrows heading south for Fátima. When we stayed at Casa da Fernanda in Sep 2020 most of the other pilgrims there were going in reverse as part of a Portuguese-only CP loop.

The only pilgrim we met on the coastal Portugues in 2018 (in Baiona) was walking to Lisbon! 🙂
