Hi we are newbies to the camino. We plan to stay overnight at Porto and then take a bus to Ponte De Lima to start our walk on 8 Oct . Since we are not staying at Ponte overnight . Can we put our luggage in a taxi to send them ahead. We plan to arrive Rubiaes later the same day.
Many thanks
Kaling

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Look at the internet for Tuitrans. They forward luggage on the Portuguese camino.
5€ for a backpack to your next destination.
Maybe you can leave your luggage at the albergue or the hotel next to the albergue, put the money in the Tuitrans enveloppe and hope they pick up your belongings.

At what time you will arrive to Ponte de Lima ?.
The stage Ponte de Lima to Rubiaês is the hardest on the caminho Português
A lot of climbing on the Labruge mountain. And the days are getting shorter. Not a nice stage to walk in the dark.

Bom caminho

thank you Albertinho. It is likely that we will bus to Ponte de Lima with our luggage and get there by noon. We are regular 10 kms competitors so we should be able to "hike" quickly. I am aware of the TuiTrans people but they quoted 60 Euros to cart our luggage from Porto to Rubiaes. It is understandable as it is at least 85 +kms between those places.

Your suggestion has now given me an idea, we will get Tuitrans to pick up from Ponte and deliver at Tui. It has to be less than 60 euros like that.

I think so and that was the intention of my answer on your question.
The walk from Ponte de Lima to Rubiaês will take some time due to it is an offroad path, ascending and descending, to the highest point of the caminho Português .
Rubiaēs is just a hamlet..very small , some hostals, an albergue and one restaurant.

Hello forum members. We end up catching a minibus operated by Barquense with our luggage. It runs 4 times daily and direct from Porto airport to Ponte de Lima at 9 euros pp. Then afterwards by taxi to our accommodation in Rubiaes then use same taxi back to Ponte de Lima . The cost was 35 Euros in case anyone is interested
