***SEVERE STORM WARNING***

Putting this here in the hope that it will be seen!

There is a very real chance of F12 winds hitting Portugal and Northern Spain (especially Galicia) from Midnight tonight. Gusts of upto 160 KPH. Not walking conditions (likely to include much of Sunday). It will be highly dangerous with all sorts of debris flying through the air. This comes from someone who willingly walked over the Cruz de Ferro in Meter deep snow and gale force winds. I wouldn't even step outside in this!

Stay safe.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Amen to that. Wind yesterday in El Bierzo passed the hurricane force mark!

Guardia Civil are driving the caminos here in Palencia, advising pilgrims to take shelter early and plan on holing-up somehwere warm, perhaps well into Sunday; they asked us to open up as emergency shelter if it´s needed.

The front facade of San Zoilo monastery in Carrion de los Condes is barricaded since a good chunk of it fell off and crumbled into the street overnight. The wind is blowing the tiles right off the roofs! Don´t take chances, pilgrims!

Just beginning to hit Santiago now. Looking at all the old rooves (roofs?) here I suspect a few tiles to go flying this evening.

Can't stress enough just how dangerous this sort of weather can be for walkers. Not entirely sure I want to spend a night in my mates campervan (home for the past few days) tonight. It's looking ugly!

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
still pretty wild here. Warm and full-blast full-moon light, but the wind is stripping branches off the trees still. We have three pilgs snoring happily away in the salon, safe from the storm.

The Mayor, who knows everything, says this is the last big blast of winter. Just to put your mind at ease.

My morning walk has been bothered by fallen branches and a stream/mountain torrent that I was unable to cross today, though usually I can. More importantly yesterdays heavy rain on lower ground produced a generous dumping of snow on the higher ground, something over a 1000 metres I suspect, so for those walking now parts of Lugo may be difficult/cold.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
