I've heard that you can get a pilgrims passport at the Porto Cathedral. What about a shell?

You are correct, you can get your Credencial and your first stamp at the Porto Cathedral. If I remember correctly, it opens daily at 9 am. Not sure about the shell. I think you’ll find shops in downtown Porto selling them along with other Camino memorabilia. It may even be possible for you to find them at the albergue where you’re staying.
