Sick in logrono.

A selection of Camino Jewellery
Have come down with a bad flu and have to cancel camino plans. Booked into hotel in logrono trying to recover. 5 days now and getting worse. Sore throat the worst symptom- like im swallowing acid. What does a non-spanish speaking pilgrim do in this situation please? English speaking doctor? Hospital?
I did do a c test 2 days ago which showed positive. Haven't had a flu in years.

There's no way i could walk any distance, with or without a pack.

Have you taken a Covid test?

With 5-days of worsening Covid symptoms, I would definitely visit the closest hospital as soon as possible. I believe all will have english speaking staff. Pamplona is also an hour drive away, if you can get a taxi.
At the very least they might put you on an antiviral, that can help keep Covid symptoms from getting worse.

Post #2 says C test was done.
Ah, didn’t catch “c test” me at Covid; so the title of this post is actually, “Covid positive in Logroño”! Isolate, inform the staff so that they can follow their protocols, and inform the albergue you stayed at before getting sick. If you worsen, consult with the staff about medical care - Spain has dealt with this for 2 years, you are not the first pilgrim nor hotel guest to get Covid. This forum is NOT the place to get medical advice.

That’s tough- as well as following all the above advice you might want to check with your insurance company if you have insurance- there should be an emergency contact number on your policy. Sometimes they can help guide you.
Take care.

Thank you for saying this in a nicer way than I would have!

Covid is not the flu and at this point it should always be the go to assumption. The staff at the front desk of your hotel should be able to help in locating medical help.
