Hi

My name is Ben. Im a 29yr old Australian who loves to travel. I completed the Camino De Santiago in September 2005 and loved it.

I am now on to my next challenge. For those of you who have completed the Santiago pilgrimage, this could be for you :D The Via Francegina follows the old Roman road from Canterbury to Rome. There is hardly any support network but the experience is amazing.

You can follow my pilgrimage at http://www.partypilgrims.blogspot.com.

And if there is anyone out there who would like to join me for part of my journey you are more than welcome.

Cheers

Ben :)

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Via Francigena

Ciao Ben,
I walked about 700kms of the VF from Vevey on Lake Lausanne to Roma last year. (We missed out the 'meseta' of the VF - the flat Po Valley plains between Ivrea and Parma).
I downloaded Italian daily guides and translated them using Google - with hilarious results! There were five of us (average age 55) so we shared out the daily guides and maps. We also used the maps from an Italian Guide Book.
In spite of many warnings that the Via F is for pioneers with few waymarks, and that everyone gets lost - we didn't get lost even once!
You can read about our journey here:

William Marques, member of this Forum, started a VF Forum a couple of years ago. If you haven't visited it yet, you will find quite a lot of advice in the Files and Data pages.

There is also a VF confraternity in England:

Have a wonderful walk!!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
If that is Ben Dale. Hi.

I can't get your link to work. (It's OK now).

Ben was at our Confraternity of Pilgrims to Rome meeting in May and was going to go via Amsterdam. Did it happen that way? (Looking at the blog I see you went the normal route)

You may bump into Bron and I as we will be on the Italian section next month.
