Hello fellow peregrinos! Can anyone provide recent information about what is required for a U.S. citizen returning to the U.S. from Spain via Canada? Specifically, what is required re: Covid documents and what is the customs process? Thank you!

I believe you have to need to submit info to ArriveCAN I think 72 hours of arrival.

Recent Information: I just came back (tuesday) from a trip from Costa Rica to Canada with a stop in th usa . To arrive in Canada we needed to use arrivecan: proof a two reconized vacines, scan of passport and flight number. For our stop in the usa: proof of an negative test took 24 hours before. We get tested in the airport took about 30 min to get the result.

If you are doing a connecting flight through Canada to USA then you will likely Not Have to clear customs in Canada ( of which ArrivCan app will not be required ). But check that out with Airport Site you are entering in Canada.

If you are driving from Canada to the US you don't need proof of a covid test.

Yep. This route has been used by people to get around a positive covid test when returning to the US. Also, it's the same with the land border crossings with Mexico.
