Time of past OR future Camino
August 2013 (in stages)
Hello everybody.
I am new to this site, & a bit nervous about looking like an idiot, but here goes!
I am beginning my camino in late August-I am doing it in stages, as I have decided that if I wait until I have five weeks off work, I will be too old or decrepit.
This being the case, do I need a new passport every year, or can I carry my original one through?
Thanks
Vanessa

Good question!! I am also having a 9-10 day Camino this year with the intent of continuing another year.

By all means use the same passport [credential]. At the pilgrim office when you ask for a compostela you can use it as proof that you have walked from your original starting point - this is common practice. Only get a new one if all the spaces have been used.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
hello to all peregrinos,

first of all, buen camino.

as mentioned by alan, use the same credential. be sure to have your credential stamped again where you left off the previous walk. that means you will have 2 stamps from the same pueblo or city. that is one thing the volunteers at the pilgrim office in santiago will look at in order to obtain your compostela.
