On Monday 10th we are ready for the last stretch of the camino, from Astorga. Our flight schedule is rather tight with three stops. If the worst happens and some of the luggage is missing, will we find sports shops in Astorga to buy vital equipment?

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
There is an outdoor shop in Astorga just off the plaza. Its opposite a chocolate shop (the chocolate shop you can see from the plaza itself, so if you find that you'll find the outdoor shop).

Not sure if it is the same shop that Frances is talking about....but there is a nice little Pilgrim equipment shop near the cathedral. Just around the corner from the cathedral.
I think Frances was talking about the main plaza by the city hall.
I have not seen the outdoor shop there.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
The store mentioned by Frances is probably Deportes Huracan on plaza Santocildes 1.
See >>http://www.deporteshuracan.com/ for more information. They specialize in hiking clothes and equipment.

Yes, I think the one she is talking about it is the one I went into- down a set of stairs, and quite large. Had all sorts of gear in it, and very helpful service when I was there. They had a 'large' backpack outside if it is the same shop.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Thank you! Always good answers here :) Hopefully we get all our luggage so there will be no need for the shops. We are really looking forward to walking again!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Hi, we went to the store with the big backpack on the outside, the owners really helped us to find a pair of new boots...his name is Rolf. They have all sort of articles for hiking and walking...we highly recommend this place, very professional treated and great advised. BUEN CAMINO

I also got trekking sndlas from them plus St-Johns's Wart oil they make for feet. They should franchise all over the Camino, then agaon that would not be like them.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Thank you for this insight! I was THOROUGHLY impressed. Too bad they can't do an Amazon 'next-day' system here in Spain from this store. There is such a need to be filled for quality solutions (at least quality equipment).

This is the one to go to, the gentleman who owns it was both extremely helpful and knowledgeable

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
