Planning on walking in August
My wife and I will embark on our first Camino trek in just a couple of short weeks...really can't believe it's actually happening.

We have done all kinds of research but get the feeling nothing can really prepare us for what's about to happen.
Any words of advice? Things to see? Places to stay etc?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I would say listen to your body. You will see the hole way till Santiago. I stayed only several day's in Santiago and that was for the third time. For my wife and myself is Santiago the favorite town on the Camino. I wish both of you al the best on your journey to Santiago , Peter.

hi ,you said nothing can prepare you for whats about to happen and you are so so right it will be the best thing you have ever done ! my advice would be to be mindful of others , and smile and be open to chat with EVERYBODY not just the people in your normal age/professional /nationality brackets ? this i in my humble belief is what MAKES the camino for many people so special, I havenever spent so much time in a place where i felt so comfortable and safe and at ease with my self.it is what you make it ,yes you will get tired and sore but look around and i am sure you will see someone that is struggling more than you so offer help or just a buen camino.,, ps as a couple it may or may not suit you to think " ITS GOOD SOMETIMES TO WALK ALONE "my sis n i did this together and said before we left if we got on each others nerves or wanted to speed up or slow down then that was ok,, as it happens we did walk and laugh together every day, sore or not so sore :) best wishes n sorry for rambling.just so much to say..

Can I just remind people not to use capital letters - unless you are intending to shout at us all!
