Finally I am planning on walking my 2nd camino next year. This time walking with my wife. I wanted her to get a taste of Camino so it’s is another short distance Camino. We plan to walk from Valenca to SDC. My question since we maybe arriving in Porto, is it okay to get our first stamp in Porto at the cathedral even thou we are starting at Valenca?

Thank you and Buen Camino to all!

Dennis

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Yes, you can get a stamp at the Cathedral in Porto. If you want a distance certificate when you finish just let the pilgrim office volunteer know that your actual walk started in Valença.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Thank you Trecile. Much appreciated the response

I did exactly that.
It wasn’t a problem at all.
I had at least 2 stamps each day from Valenca, and that is where a distance certificate will count from if you choose to request one.

I’ve seen Credentials with a first stamp from the parish of the pilgrim:
USA, Japan, Italy, etc.
Some people even stamp it along the voyage to the start of the walk. Airports, trains, hotels.
In reality we start the pilgrimage the moment we close our house door.
Good point JLuis. Love that perspective - Thank you
