Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

With the Madrid taxi site, from Madrid to Pamplona would be €453.00

Bus or train to Pamplona and there stop by the Tourist office, Avenida Roncesvalles, 4 about a block or so off the Camino. They can offer help to find a taxi at the fixed rate and usually have a list of pilgrims waiting to share. Roncesvalles is easy from Pamplona, you may need another on to SJPP.

I took a bus from Madrir airport to Pamplona, stayed a night and took a bus from Pamplona to St-Jean. That last bus ride was really nice and gives you an idea of the Pyreneens!! In November there was only one bus from Pamplona to SJPDP (at 15h00 I believe??). I think, but not sure that the ride was about 2 hours?? The first from Madrid to Pamplona was about 5-6 hours I think?? Cna't recall exactly, but hey, that's a small part of the journey and gives you time to dream a bit, or snooze during the ride. Unexpensive too...

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Took a bus from the Madrid airport to train station in Madrid. Took the train to Pamplona. While on train and departing train in Pamplona, we connected with 4 others and we shared a van to Roncevalles to drop off one pilgrim then the four of us went to StJPP. Once you get to Pamplona, Just look for people who look like you and are lost and get together for a taxi to StJPP.

Also, should say, that on the bus from Pamplona to SJPDP, there was 5 pilgrims that took that bus. This spaniard guy hops on and super joyful looks at me sitting in front of the bus and shout "Hola mi amigo, qué tal?" ... big smile and all!! Did not talk much on the buse, but kinda chated a bit he did not talk a work other that Spanish, and my Spanish was elementary at that time)... but when we go to SJPDP, everybody seeemed lost, so I told him to follow me and that we'd find the office together. From there on he became by best friend for two weeks (he stopped after 2 weeks..).... we still communicate more than a year after...
All this to say, take the bus!! You will be in the Camino spirit right from the start and cheap too.)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Absolutely Yes,. My wife and I took a taxi ( taxi navarra +34 689 80 01 52 , Juan) in Sept 2014 ( $750 flat rate ) Sound pricey?.. Well, yes, it is . BUT here's the deal

We traveled 30 hours from Arkansas to Madrid and did not want to add to that 30 hrs trains + taxi + a sleep over in Pamplona then take a bus ( or taxi) next day to get to St Jean . We wanted to rest our weary heads and have a full kickback day in St Jean to visit and acclimate . Considering the fares for a train , a bus, and a hotel for 2 and subtracting from taxi fare it wasn't really that pricey ( Taxi) . Also keep in mind the un-measurable value of a nice long rest before attacking the Pyrenees' .. ( Priceless) Granted we got some super deals on flights coming over so with that saving we put towards the taxi .

Cost difference above normal out of pocket was about $175 for two , Madrid to St Jean . I will take it every time and If you can bundle with others heading in the same direction on the same day even better .

Here's Juan our Taxi Driver . Wonderful guy

No wonder he looks happy!!!) $750... I would be too!! LOL.... just kidding,.. I do understand, but... I was coming from Canada and also a long flight (not as long), but I really thought that there was no rush, even though I only had 30 days total including transit and travel... but From Madrid to Pamplona bus cost $52 and was only something like 5.5 hours. Very confortable bus in which you can easily sleep. Took a room in Pamplona - pretty little motel, very typical for $32 a night. The bus to St-Jean was I believe $25 and was about a 2 hour ride with beautiful scenery. Go there fresh, enjoyed the town, had a nice diner and left the next morning on my journey. ... all this for about $110, saw Pamplona a bit, met a new friend on the bus to SJPDP and did not cost much... But not judging here, to all its own. It is all about feeling and comfort, time and money... Just saying it can be very enjoyable by bus, less expensive and very doable. Cheers!~!

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
You could simply add Pamplona into your plane ticket and just have to take a taxi for €100

The deal is also that you made a real difference to one persons life and income - something to consider if you can afford it! Buen Camino, SY

Wow. That is a lot of travel time to Madrid. Last June I flew to Madrid from New Orleans and it was a total travel time of about 13 hours. Y'all must have had one heck of a layover somewhere......

Super Deals on Airlines oftentimes equates to super long lay overs and then there's those testy Gremlins that invade airline parts occasionally
